Save Your Thumbs: Utilizing the Forearm as Your Primary Tool
14 CEs

Save your thumbs and use the forearm instead! As massage therapists we commonly over use our wrists, fingers and thumbs occasionally resulting in muscular pain, fatigue or strain.   The forearm is a lovely and functional alternative to a thumb, or hand.
In this workshop you will learn strategies and tips for using the forearm as your primary massage tool for either posterior body or, anterior and side body. There is a strong emphasis on proper body alignment, mechanics and arm positioning. Both Swedish and Myofacial techniques will be demonstrated and discussed.

Advanced Prenatal Massage
18 CEs

Learn the art of Prenatal Massage!  Whether you are looking to develop your practice or just build confidence in working with prenatal clients, this workshop is for you!   Prenatal massage is a beautiful heart centered practice. The pregnant client is naturally transitioning through shifts in musculoskeletal alignment and preparing for the welcoming of new life. In this three day workshop students will gain a deeper understanding of the physiology of pregnancy, understand postural changes, and learn techniques that offer relief and support for the client's changing body. Positioning and comfort measures will be discussed as well as contraindications.

Postpartum Massage
7 CEs

After childbirth the newly postpartum client enters a time of transition physically, mentally and emotionally.  Bonding with baby is key while establishing feeding and sleep routines. Simultaneously, the postpartum client is healing physically, mentally and emotionally from the birth experience.
Massage is a powerful tool for newly postpartum clients allowing them to feel relaxed, nurtured and get relief from the discomfort of tired and tense muscles. Providing massage to the postpartum client is a sweet and supportive offering. Clients are able to either bring baby with or allow a trusted caretaker to be with baby during their massage.
