Alexa McMullen has been a massage therapist for the last 3 years. After attending the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mount Kisco, she gained experience in prenatal massage at a spa in upstate NY, where she worked for two years. She developed a sense of ease and intuitive flow in her massage sessions. She recently completed the Advanced Prenatal Massage Certification training with Danielle. Being able to provide relief and comfort to pregnant clients, especially some times a much needed nap, has brought her so much joy within this field. Alexa truly enjoys seeing her clients throughout their journey, and providing them with ease at every stage of their pregnancy, and postpartum. Alexa is available on Mondays and Saturdays for in-home sessions in northern Westchester.

On the yoga mat I have found an amazing source of personal strength, flexibility and joy. It is my hope that in each yoga class I teach, students feel welcomed to discover their unique wisdom.
As a licensed massage therapist I offer an integrative approach aiming to co-create sessions with clients to address their goals, create a sense of well being and assist in creating ease within movement. While working with pregnant clients, postpartum clients, partners, friends, and families, my goal is to offer nurturing support and confidence in their pregnancy, labor and childbirth experience. |
Danielle's experience as a healing arts practitioner has deeply enriched her life and she is forever grateful. Through my journey I have cultivated a deep respect for the innate wisdom and healing ability of the body, mind and spirit. My love and study of traditional healing arts combined with an educational background in biology offers a me a unique approach in working with clients and students.
In our quest for creating joy and well being there are many challenges. We can choose to see these challenges as stressful or we can shift the perspective. Challenges can often be opportunities to pause and take better care of ourselves. As a mother, my greatest lesson has been in learning to take better care of myself so I can take better care of my family. |
Danielle's Educational Background, Training and Professional Experience:
In 2000 I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and in 2002 I attended the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY. In 2003 I trained in Herbal Healing with the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine.
I have practiced massage therapy since 2002 in New Jersey and New York State. I received advanced training in Reiki, Medical Massage, Anatomy Trains, Perinatal Massage, Infant Massage and Arvigo Technique of Mayan Abdominal Therapy®. In 2005 I shifted the direction of my practice to focus largely on prenatal and postnatal bodywork.
My own journey of pregnancy began with my son, who was born in 2008. I quickly learned that the sacred time of pregnancy can be difficult and scary. I decided to learn as much a s I could. I researched traditional birth practices, I found an amazing yoga teacher, went to weekly prenatal yoga and attended childbirth education. These experiences grounded me and allowed me to feel at ease and confident during my pregnancy. I had a powerful and transformative birth experience where I was supported by my yoga practice, a birth doula and a nurse midwife. Having traveled the sacred journey of birth, I wanted to help other women and families.
Little did I know, years after being a single parent, I would meet Mike, my sweet partner and husband. Love has a way of weaving its way throughout our lives. Mike and I married and our family grew. In 2020 I gave birth to our sweet daughter! I had a beautiful birth in the comfort of our home. Again traveling the journey of pregnancy and birth this time had its own challenges. Preparing for a home birth I had to reach deep within for all the wisdom of my past and attain a new mindset which allowed this beautiful birth to unfold.
I have trained as a Lamaze Childbirth Educator under Judith Lothian and as a Birth Doula under Debra Pascali-Bonaro with Doulas of North America International. I also trained as a Postpartum Doula with Tradition Birth Arts. I have attended Doula workshops including Breast Feeding for Doulas and Acupressure for Pregnancy, Childbirth & Postpartum.
In 2013 I attended 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Betsy Kase at Yoga Haven and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) with Yoga Alliance. I completed level 1 Little Flower yoga for children with Jennifer Cohen. I received level 1 and 2 Yin Yoga training with Biff Mithoefer and Restorative Yoga training with Sue Flamm. I received Prenatal Yoga training from Kelly Devi Swellis.
I am currently a Certificated Lactation Counselor and I am pursuing a certificate in Aromatherapy.
I am blessed to have been a part of the teaching staff at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Mount Kisco, NY since its opening in 2008.
I am a New York State and NCBTMB approved provider of continuing education for Licensed Massage Therapists- provider number 1473. I am also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
I offer several different advanced training programs for LMTs and Yoga Teachers. I am dedicated to offering solid and informed training for LMTs and Yoga Teachers attending my workshops.
